One of the cats was drinking water in the kitchen and jumped so hard when the toaster popped on a nearby counter that he knocked over a water bowl. I would have thought he’d learn over time, but after five years of exposure he still leave the room when I plug in the vacuum cleaner, so maybe he does learn, but a different lesson than I would suggest.
